| \| \\| **Update:**The [CDBG-CV Community Violence Intervention Quick Guide](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=f64ecf8474&e=ae5fdc3d29) is now available in [Spanish](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=c1bdce5adf&e=ae5fdc3d29). It identifies evidence-based strategies to mitigate and reduce community violence and provides suggestions on how such activities could be funded with Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) or Community Development Block Grant CARES Act (CDBG-CV) resources. While the pandemic has exacerbated contributing factors to community violence, the root causes can be traced to decades of disinvestment and economic isolation in certain communities, disproportionately impacting Black and Hispanic neighborhoods. HUD has made billions of dollars available to help communities prepare for, prevent, and recover from the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic. These funds can also be leveraged to address the causes of community violence and help build stronger, safer, more equitable, and ultimately more resilient communities. This Guide outlines strategies to: - Improve the physical environment of neighborhoods - Increase financial stability and mobility - Engage and support youth Additionally, this Guide focuses on violence intervention and deterrence through group violence intervention, relationship-based street outreach, and hospital-based intervention and provides several community examples. \\| \\| --- \\| \| \| --- \| \| \\| [View the Quick Guide in English and Spanish](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=c3eae5b935&e=ae5fdc3d29) \\| \\| --- \\| \| \| --- \| \| \\| \\| \\| --- \\| \| \| --- \| \| \\| ### Additional Information and Resources CDBG-CV resources, tools, and training will continue to be posted on the HUD Exchange as they become available. - Visit the [CDBG-CV page](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=b6bed1a444&e=ae5fdc3d29) - Visit the [CDBG COVID-19 Resources page](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=7659ee2af2&e=ae5fdc3d29) - Submit program and policy questions to [Ask A Question](https://hudexchange.us5.list-manage.com/track/click?u=87d7c8afc03ba69ee70d865b9&id=ba5eb6ff3c&e=ae5fdc3d29) \\| \\| --- \\| \| \| --- \| |
