Is there a licensure requirement for Host Home/ Kinship Care? Does it need to follow social service department requirements etc.?

No, Host Homes do not have that requirement. It’s the best practice to do a background check on the host, but even that is not a requirement.

Is chronic homelessness a requirement for PSH project type?

YHDP doesn’t have a chronic homelessness requirement for PSH. The household must still meet the disability requirements.

There is an option for Street Outreach, but not for Drop-in Center specifically, even though it is spoken of in the SSO new project in the CCP... Is Standalone Supportive Services what I choose for Drop-in Center project?

How do I know if my grant application meets the priorities of the Youth Action Board?

The YAB’s order of importance related to projects types are as follows.

1. Permanent Housing Rapid-Rehousing ​
2. Joint Transitional Housing/Rapid Rehousing (Joint TH-RRH) ​
3. Permanent Supportive Housing (PSH) ​
4. Host Homes/ Kinship Care​
5. Shared Housing Supportive Services Only (SSO) ​

SO Only Activities include but not limited to case management, drop-in centers, legal services, or street outreach​.

How do I know how much funding I should apply for?

The CCP provides a draft funding amount by project type this determination is based on the YAB priorities and average cost per client under project type were based on previous years programming average cost per client. These are targets and not intended to be a cap for applicants.

What will data reports look like if awarded?

How do I find more information about Housing First?

The National Alliance to End Homelessness (NAEH) defines the Housing First approach for addressing the chronic homelessness of disabled and vulnerable people as “a client-driven strategy that provides immediate access to an apartment without requiring initial participation in psychiatric treatment or treatment for sobriety. Housing First is based on two core convictions:

1. Housing is a basic human right, not a reward for clinical success, and
2. Once the chaos of homelessness is eliminated from a person’s life, clinical and social stabilization occur faster and are more enduring.
