SUMMARY:PIT Count Training: In-Person
DESCRIPTION:What is a PIT Count?\n\n\n\nAt the end of January each year\, every region in the nation performs a Point-in-Time (PIT) Count of all people experiencing homelessness in shelters and on the street. The PIT Count creates the ability to monitor trends in homelessness and supports local efforts to end homelessness by identifying unmet needs in the area. \n\n\n\nHow can I help?\n\n\n\nWe need volunteers to serve as PIT Coordinators and/or Surveyors!\n\n\n\n\nPIT Coordinators act as a lead for a particular geographical region\, serving as a local organizer/contact person for volunteer Surveyors. \n\n\n\nSurveyors complete digital surveys with people experiencing homelessness in areas of known locations on the day of the PIT Count (1/22/25) and for the seven days following. Surveyors can choose to help just for one day or as many days as you’d like. We provide the digital survey app\, remote and in-person training options\, and incentive bags for survey participants (with items such as hats\, gloves\, hygiene items\, snacks).\n\n\n\n\nWe need volunteers to serve as PIT Coordinators and Surveyors in each of these counties: Chesterfield\, Clarendon\, Darlington\, Dillon\, Florence\, Georgetown\, Horry\, Kershaw\, Lee\, Marion\, Marlboro\, Sumter\, and Williamsburg. \n\n\n\nRSVP is not required to attend!

We provide training\, survey forms\, and incentive items to give to survey participants. \n\n\n\nJoin us in person at Lighthouse Ministries on January 3rd at 10:00AM or Virtually on Microsoft Teams January 12th at 1:00PM to participate in training and help our community.
